Especially in NYC?
And even if you could do it, would it be worth blogging about? Probably not if it was me doing the shopping and cooking!
BUT, this little blog, 30 Bucks a Week does, and does it incredibly well. They’re vegetarians, which cuts out a chunk of the grocery bill, and shop at a Co-Op (note to self: find Co-Op for incredibly cheap food) in Brooklyn, and I’m already drooling over several of their recipes.
Even if you aren’t a vegetarian, adding at least one (or one more) meatless meal a week is a great way to lower your grocery budget AND help the environment!

2009
…feeling more than a little beat up. No need to panic (unless you’re me) - I’ve just simply survived my annual Christmas cold combined with Hurricane Eva’s Christmas gift - the ability to climb out of her crib. Her choice to unveil this new skill (several times a night) at my mother-in-law’s house only added icing to the cake.
The husband and I often go out and dance madly on New Year’s Eve but last night found us happy to be home and considering installing a lock on H.E.’s bedroom door (again, people, don’t panic. I know this is a fire hazard. But it was our first night home and we were TIRED. And we didn’t DO it, ok?).
I’ve also arrived in 2009 with only one pair of jeans that fits. I’m hoping this is the result of two weeks of Christmas goodies, Christmas cheer and visiting every single restaurant that we love from our hometown, but nonetheless, I, like everyone else in the US, have resolved to lose weight this year. More updates on that tomorrow (and, per reader request, an ongoing WiiFit review - fabulous idea!).
But today, I MUST share with you my all-time favorite resolution here. Seriously. Check it out. (fear not- the link is family friendly)
My past resolutions have included wearing more jewelry (accomplished!) and finding a good pair of boots (also done!) but nothing as ambitious as this. Bless this woman. (and, for the record, I’ve made TONS of her recipes and they all rock.)
