giveaway - over $100 in coupons (two winners!)
Monday is here, and with it, another giveaway. This week, I’ve got coupons on the brain, so I’m sharing the love.
I have two sets of over $100 in coupons EACH and will be giving both away.
How to enter? Leave me a comment here before midnight, Sunday, May 10 (that’s Mother’s Day, y’all) telling me something POSITIVE that you’ve experienced from this economic downturn. Seriously.
Mine? I’ve been re-evaluating every purchase. Do we need it? Is it the best deal? Part of why I have so many coupons to give away is that I’m less brand-loyal than I used to be and won’t buy stuff just because it’s on sale.
If you want an extra entry, blog about this giveaway and leave me the link.
Good luck!

I’ve experienced more than one positive result of this economic downturn. I’ve gone into ultra couponing mode and I have lots of groceries and necessities stockpiled if we lose family income. Plus, I’m spending less than ever before for more products. We’ve almost eliminated discretionary purchases and the positive result is less clutter and discoverying we have more than what we need already!
Something positive about the economic downturn….hmmmm. Well, my husband worked crazy OT hours last year. Yes, he brought in a lot of extra cash. However, we rarely saw him. This year OT has been eliminated. Our income is down, but we still have plenty to meet our needs (and some of our wants)..mainly due to our frugal ways. So, the bonus is that we are spending more time as a family. Sometimes, extra $$ just isn’t worth it.

The economic downturn really put things in perspective. Sure, we can’t take that exotic vacation this year, but we can picnic with the kids in the backyard. We’re enjoying ourselves more as a family. We’ve really asked ourselves ‘do we really need it?’ before buying it, which is great. Cause we don’t, really! I’ve also discovered that I love grocery shopping. I love the challenge of getting my bill under a certain amount and still getting everything I want (read: chocolate!)
The most positive thing I have experienced from this economic turn down is that I am not getting very much work. Which means I have about 40 - 60 hours a week more time to spend with my daughter doing crafts going for walks, volunteering in her classroom regularly.
I certainly like having work but this is good too
The most positive thing we have experienced is learning all of the things we can live without.
Something positive about the economic downturn I would say is that we have really come closer as a family. We stay home and we do fun things together like playing scrabble, video games, watching movies, or just reading a great book together.
We also have really come together with our extended family by way of getting together more than we used to before. It has truly been amazing. We also work together as a team when we go shopping and that makes it so much fun.
Thank you so much for the contest! I love your blog!! I bookmarked your site.
Thanks again
Happy Mothers Day
Michele
We’ve been learning to get by on less, be frugal but happy!
We got rid of the cable and WOW now we have so much more time to do all the things we wanted to do! I didn’t realize how much time we were spending in front of the tV
During this economic turn down, my friendships have only developed more. Because we are all feeling the monetary pinch, my friends and I get together every other week for dinner at someone’s house. Cooking food not only cuts down on the cost, but we are able relax and talk and have fun together.

I have learned not to rely on credit cards to get what I want. If the money is not in my bank account, I can’t afford it.
I have experienced the importance of God and family during this time. I feel blessed to have both! Thanks God for COUPONS!!!!!!

The positive is that I have become even more frugal than I was before. I am using even more coupons, doing more comparison shopping, and questioning if I need to make particular purchases.
I am a young mom and this economic down turn has made me appreciate what I have. I now live by the circulars and my coupons. I am a stay at home mom and grad student we live check to check, but as a woman I have tried to step out however I can whether it is writing articles until 5 am or turning off lights. I have done whatever I can to keep my child happy and healthy and I am grateful because as a kid I had no bills but now I can help my family.
