coupon giveaway - over $120 in coupons!
Happy Monday! I’m able to give away over $120 in coupons from my stash… I won’t be shopping as much in April (at least, not for food) because Hurricane Eva and I are headed to LA for two weeks to help a friend get ready for her wedding and then celebrate that wedding. We had about six inches of snow this weekend, so I can hardly wait.
(note to self: when I complain about the occasionally mind-numbing nature of being a stay-at-home mom, remember that it allows me to go help a friend in LA for two weeks and that no job would possibly allow me that flexibility.)
Since I’ve got weddings on the brain (and some wedding-related posts planned), to enter the contest, leave a comment telling me the best wedding gift you’ve given or received. It doesn’t have to be the most frugal or the most creative. Just your favorite. My favorite? A dear family friend wrote down all of her recipes, including her famous fried chicken, for me. I still treasure them, especially now that she has passed on.
The giveaway is open until Midnight, Monday, April 5. US & Canadian residents only, please!

When I got married my best friend gave me a really pretty necklace that has two hearts connected, its really pretty and I love it! Thanks for entering me, I love coupons and saving money
For my wedding my mom collected recipes from family, friends and soon-to-be family. That recipe box is my “go to” and it’s so fun to try things that I remember my grandmother making when I was little, such as her famous butterscotch pie. Yumm!
i ave this gorgeous picture frame
I gave a beautiful punch bowl set to a friend that likes to entertain at her house. It was a large punch bowl, with a ladle and several cups included from Crate & Barrell.
THe best git we received was nice cookware!
The best wedding gift I received is my husband!
Thanks for this opportunity to win coupons!
My favorite gift to give is a nice silver frame.
A popcorn popper!

I received a handmade wooden recipe box that my favorite uncle had made for me, with my new initials carved into the lid, and my favorite aunt (his wife) had painted the sides of it with beautiful flowers to match my dishes!
The best gift I got was a special platter to make the dip I am famous for at family events. It wasn’t a huge gift but it was from my future sister-in-law, who I wasn’t talking to at the time. When I got that from her, I knew she really took the time to think about me and pick out a special gift. It eventually healed the rift between us.
I sure like Olivia’s answer about her husband being the best gift. I’d add to that. In addition to my husband, I got two sons!! (And now I have a wonderful grandson, too!!!!!) For some unknown reason, I have never had biological children so I would have never been a Mom. I’m so thankful.
Thanks for the oppportunity to register for the coupons.
The best wedding gift. . . hmm. One that I have used constantly is the stash of herbs and spices I friend gave me to stock my pantry. Buying them for myself would have been around $40 dollars, and I have used them every day since.
My favorite wedding gift was a sweet, little writing desk from my husband’s parents.
One of my best friends is getting married in a few months and I’m making her a basket of food, snacks, drinks and a few other things. I’m going to have it placed in their hotel room for after their wedding b/c usually the bride and groom don’t have much time to eat at the reception and are starving later. So, I’m pretty excited about this gift.
My favorite gift was that my elderly grandmother attended my wedding. She (and we) did not think that she would be able to come because she was very sick and frail from emphysema and in a wheelchair. When I saw her arrive, I cried! She died almost exactly 2 months later, but I’ll always treasure her memory.
I received an iron with automatich shutoff from my grandmother, she knew I always forgot to unplug or turn things off. We were married in Aug 87 and she passed away in April 88. That was the last thing she gave me while she was alive.
I usually only give gift cards. We never had a wedding so we didn’t get any gifts.
My favorite wedding gift was a friend of ours made a videotape of our wedding ceremony for us. This was many years ago when video cameras were not very common.
The best - my sister made three huge (24×32) pictures. One was a collage of matt, one a collage of me, and a third, a collage of us together.
I received a set of gumbo bowls with crabs on them. I just love these bowls and use them everytime I make gumbo.
the best wedding gift i received was my whole set of corelle dishes with glasses and the whole nine yards.
Thanks
I usually give a home made gift basket with romantic snacks like chocolates, hard cheeses, salami and yummy crackers, 2 small bottles of champagne with 2 champagne flutes (glasses), and to to it off, a gift card to a romantic restaurant in the area they are staying (if I know where it is) or an american express gift card. It is usually well received. The reason I give this gift is because I received a gift basket similar to this for my first wedding and it was wonderful to have all the goodies to snack on in our room, especially if we were too busy to leave it for a day :D. Thanks for letting us share this precious memory.
My favorite gift was a sign with our last name that our friend had made for us. She got one when she got married, and I had told her how much I loved it. She remembered and bought one for us at our wedding!
My favorite thing was a homemade quilt with homemade jellies, jams, and gifts from their garden. Reminded me of the giftgiver every time we use the quilt - so we keep it folded at the end of our bed for looks and for good use!
the best gift i received was a compilation of advice for the new bride. friends and family got together and wrote in a beautiful journal all of the advice i would need to start a successful new life with my husband. i still cherish it!
I took pictures of my brother’s wedding (he didn’t have a professional) and they came out wonderful. I made some into black and white and left others in color. I printed them and made a large scrapbook page which I framed. It was beautiful.
I too love coupons!!!! hehe
Maybe I need to have a coupon giveaway on my site too. I have a HUGE envelope of coupons that I won’t be using.

My favorite wedding gift was a beautiful personalized silver frame for our wedding photo.
Thanks for the chance to win!
I did not get any wedding gifts for my wedding but I think a great photo album is a great gift because it completes the circle of your life. You end a chapter of being single and now you can start a second photo album with your husband and your new family. You can give one completed album and one empty one.
