a little web roundup
First off, let me just say that I am on a natural high that dooce.com recommended Brooklyn Industries’ H bags as a diaper bag (read here). For the first time in my life, I blogged something before dooce did. Heather is, of course, my blogging idol, and I am trying to figure out a way to ditch Hurricane Eva for a few days so I can go to Chicago and see her in person. (did I say ditch? I meant find stimulating childcare for so I can take a little breakey. Because I’ve been snowed in with a two year old for going on four days now and my head is about to explode)
Next, hooray! Nie Nie is back to posting on Saturday - how cool is that? For all the times when we as individuals doubt that prayer works or that a small group of concerned citizens can change the world (props to Margaret Mead for a quote that will always be relevant), Nie Nie’s story can serve as comfort.
Thirdly, there are some great photo book deals out there, but they expire quickly - click here for one at Hooray and here for one at PhotoWorks - I haven’t used either of these sites before, but a cheap little photo book of Hurricane Eva is a great gift for grandparents for Valentine’s Day. My very first scrapbooking consultant always recommended writing captions in your own handwriting because it’s special to the giftee (if not to you, the gifter).
Finally, if you’re feeling fabulously mindless, check out the Fug Girls’ coverage of the Golden Globes. They may be irreverent, but they make me giggle…and who doesn’t need that when you’re snowed in??
